9:45 Each Mile

Just got back from running 2 miles. I did each mile at 9:45. A grand total of 19:30. I haven't timed my runs since last year... so this would be my first for 2006. I have a run on Sunday at 8:00am. I am contemplating whether or not i should run a 5k or 10k for time.

My Last Race

I've only ran one marathon. It was in Niagra Falls and it was wonderful!

I ran my last race (which was a 5K run at CSUN) on April 30th 2005. Such a long time ago. I did the 5K in 24:40.

My last 10K race (on January 30th) was in Palm Springs and i did that in 1:01:24.

Again... i am not trying to beat my time... but it would be nice.

Saint John's Santa Monica 10,000 Web-Site

No run today... just time to heal.

Here is the link to this weekend's race.

I haven't been training for this... but i have been running for relaxation. So i feel very confident in finishing. Now pertaining to time... i probably won't do so good. After this race... i will start using my heart monitor and timing myself... but until then... this race is stricly for fun.

7 Miles Along the Coast of Cabrillo Again

Ate at Ports O' Call with Alesha at the San Pedro Fish Market right on the ocean. We chose shrimp, scallops and talapia and they cooked it right in front of us.

Needed to burn off all that food... so i ran along the Coast of Cabrillo again... 7 miles.

Running in the Rain Across Suicide Bridge

Ran 8 miles today in the rain from Highland Park to the Rose Bowl... took a detour across the Colorodo Bridge (aka Suicide Bridge).

I have one week for the 10k race. I better start eating properly. I think i will keep not only a daily running log... but also a food intake log.

Running Along the Coast of Cabrillo

Ran 4 miles last night along the Coast of Cabrillo Beach. It was strange at one point. There was a car that made a few u-turns and proceeded to follow me. It was strange since there were not that many vehicles in the area. It was also very dark (around 10:30pm). The person probably thought that i was a woman. Especially with my long hair put in a nice neat pony tail.

Regardless... he high beamed me at one point and i looked at him straight in the eyes. I think that is when he realized that i was a man (with facial hair and not so pretty). I expected to brawl... but he would have been in for a surprise. I have over 12 years of martial arts training, i've taught almost three of those years, i have a Black Belt (which really isn't as important as my passion for fighting - i believe in the art of self defense and i love confrontation) and last but not least... i had my knife with me).

Bottom line... nothing happened... which is ultimately good. Because you never know... he could have had an AK47 in his vehicle and i may have not been able to write this experience. I am always thankful to God!

Fort MacArthur to Ports O Call

Ran over 4 miles today in the afternoon. Pretty unusual for me... i tend to run in the early mornings. I went from Fort MacArthur to Port O Call in San Pedro.

I also took a 3 miles walk with Jojo today along the beach... Marina Del Rey to Santa Monica.

8 MILE

No... not the Eminem movie. I ran 8 miles today. Not since last year have i ran that far of a distance. It feels good! I need to train for this race on the 22nd and also need to loose weight for the role i plan on playing next month.

Decided to Run a 5K or 10K this month

Ran 4.5 miles today.

While running I was inspired to add more elements to my latest piece 'REVOLVER SPIN".

I have decided to run either a 5K or 10K this month. It will be along the shores of Santa Monica Beach. I am not sure whether to do a 5K or 10K.

Any suggestion?

Beginning the Fitness Routine

I have been running religiously since my first 26.2 mile Marathon in Niagra Falls in 2003. Since then i have been injured numerous times... but i always find the time to run at least 1-3 times a week.

I figured i would write this blog just to keep track of my miles and my physical activity.

Today i ran 4 miles. I also did a very light work out at the gym.

I am planning to run a 5k in the very near future.
